Hi, I'm Alex. I bridge machine learning, biology, and business development at Phi Optics, Inc.

I am a Brazilian-American raised in Portland, Oregon. I earned a B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology with minors in Biological Data Science and Chemistry @ Oregon State University.

Previously, my interest in combining engineering principles with traditional wet-lab approaches to solve health-related problems brought me to neurobiology and computer vision research at Oregon State University and the National Intstitutes of Health.

Beyond my research experience, my time founding and leading organizations specializing in scientific education and innovation cultivates a unique set of skills:
